The Kaleidescape Compact Terra is a high-performance Movie Server that stores reference-quality movies on hard drives to be played back on Kaleidescape’s Strato movie players. Compact Terra downloads movies 4x faster than the Strato S, and can download 4K movies in as little as 10 minutes. Movies are downloaded from Kaleidescape’s movie store, featuring 12,000 movies, series, and concerts—including over 1,000 4K movies (400 of which are not available on 4K Blu-ray disc). Kaleidescape movies are downloaded in full resolution, not compressed during download or playback to the Strato movie players. Downloaded movies are protected by cloud backup. Compact Terra can support any number of Strato players in a house and streams up to five 4K movies at a time. Compact Terra comes in either 6TB, 12TB, or 18TB capacity, and multiple Terra servers can be combined for maximum storage. Terra incorporates enterprise-class computing to enhance player performance and ensure reliability of large systems. Kaleidescape’s proprietary kOS operating system enables Terra to provide the advanced content protection required by Hollywood motion picture studios for their highest-fidelity movies.
